Featuring teen artist Kiara Scott

Catherine

We've added a new element to our Art in the Library showcase in Napanee this month! In addition to the awesome local artists on display (thanks to the Greater Napanee Art Arts Association), we now have a featured teen artist.

Kiara Scott, one of our fabulous Library Pages, is our first teen artist on display. We're proud to show off her work!

Stop by the Napanee Branch anytime to check it our in person or attend our Meet the Artist reception to be held on July 18th at 6:30pm.

There's no better time to pick up a good beach read so thankfully Karen Scott from our Bath Branch has thoroughly vetted Lighthouse Beach by Shelley Noble. Here is her review:

July 5, 2019 – For the second year in a row, staff at the County of Lennox and Addington held a clothing drive in support of Dress for Success Kingston.  Several boxes of new and gently used clothing, shoes, purses and jewelry were donated which will be suitable for women attending interviews or work.

The Museum has gone to the birds!

I spend a great deal of my summer time at the family cottage near Rideau Ferry, outside Perth. It is a place that is in the bloodstream of my husband and now my children. So much so, that by March, I am often asked – “Mom when are we heading to the cottage?”... this is while they are still looking at snow on the ground. You can imagine once May hits that they are practically tucking and rolling their way out of the car when we pull into the cottage drive. We are lucky and we have fun all summer long.

Best of 2019...so far!

Catherine

Believe it or not, we are just about over halfway through 2019. So far it has been a fantastic year for book releases. Though highly-anticipated releases from established authors such as Ann Patchett, Stephen King and Emma Donoghue remain on the horizon, 2019 has already produced enough great books to keep any reader busy for the rest of the year. According to me and my own personal preferences, the following are the five “best” 2019 releases I’ve read…so far.
