Each year as the business of December approaches I shift my reading to light, cozy, predictable and delightful Christmas stories. I love that in just a few hours (not unlike a Hallmark movie) you can enjoy a little brain candy and escape from the hustle and bustle. Books into Movies 2020

Like every year, 2019 has been chock full of movie adaptations of well-loved books. Some of them have tanked (ahem The Goldfinch), while others look extremely promising (Little Women) or possibly worth a watch (Where Did You Go Bernadette). If you love movies as much as you love books, you’ll want to prepare for the following big 2020 releases.

5 Books for Gladwell Fans

Malcolm Gladwell’s latest book Talking to Strangers: What We Should Know About the People We Don’t Know was just released last month, and it is already incredibly popular at the library. Talking to Strangers is best described as “a classically Gladwellian intellectual adventure.” Gladwell argues that something is wrong with the tools and strategies we use to make sense of people we don't know.

Stone Mills Ambulance Base Officially Opens

The County of Lennox & Addington officially opened their new Stone Mills Ambulance Base located at 4261 County Road 4, Centreville on Wednesday, November 13th. The event included an official ribbon cutting and tours of the facility, which began operating on June 19, 2019.
