The County of Lennox & Addington officially opened their new Stone Mills Ambulance Base located at 4261 County Road 4, Centreville on Wednesday, November 13th. The event included an official ribbon cutting and tours of the facility, which began operating on June 19, 2019.

“We are extremely pleased to have the new Stone Mills Ambulance Base operational,” stated Eric Smith, Warden of the County of Lennox & Addington. “This beautiful new facility provides a vital service for residents of the township  and of neighbouring municipalities as well.”

Owned by the County of Lennox & Addington, the facility was designed by Colbourne & Kembel, Architects Inc. and the general contractor was Wemp & Smith Construction Ltd. The facility includes crew quarters, a training room, an office, two drive-through garage bays and a back-up generator.

The Stone Mills Ambulance Base is staffed 12 hours a day, 7 days a week with two Paramedics per shift. The coverage area includes the Township of Stone Mills and areas of Loyalist Township and the Town of Greater Napanee. The base will also respond to calls in neighbouring Frontenac County, as required.

Stone Mills Township and areas of Loyalist Township and Greater Napanee. Will also respond to calls in Frontenac County as required.

563 Total (July 1, 2018 to July 1, 2019). 446 (79%) were in Stone Mills Township.

About Lennox & Addington Paramedic Services

The County of Lennox & Addington is responsible to the delivery of land ambulance service within the County. The County operates ambulance five (5) bases:

Napanee:

1 Ambulance 24/7 and 1 Ambulance 12/7 (0700 – 1900 hours).

Northbrook:

1 Ambulance 24/7.

Stone Mills:

1 Ambulance 12/7 (0700 – 1900 hours).

Denbigh:

1 Ambulance 12/7 (0700 – 1900 hours).

Loyalist:

1 Ambulance 24/7.

Lennox & Addington Paramedic Services employs approximately 85 full-time and part-time Advanced Care and Primary Care Paramedics. The service responded to 7,000 calls for service in 2018.
