Update on Fire at 113 West Mary Street, Picton

The Ontario Fire Marshall are still investigating the scene of a fire at 113 West Mary Street, Picton on Friday afternoon. 

County of Lennox and Addington staff stayed at the apartment building until late in the evening to ensure tenants returned safely to their units.  The building is part of the housing portfolio owned and operated by the Lennox and Addington County Housing Corporation.

County CAO elected 1st Vice-President of CAMA

Brenda Orchard, Chief Administrative Officer for the County of Lennox and Addington was elected 1st Vice President of the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) during the Association’s Annual General Meeting held in Banff, Alberta this week. 

Lennox and Addington Paramedic Services Announces New Paramedic Chief

Chief Craig Jones has been appointed as the new Paramedic Chief of Lennox and Addington Paramedic Services. 

“I would like to welcome Chief Jones to Lennox and Addington County” said Warden John Wise. “We are planning some exciting initiatives in Paramedic Services and are very lucky to have someone with his level of experience and expertise to lead them.”

Each year the County puts weight restrictions on County Roads in the Township of Addington Highlands from March 8 through May 7. Reducing load restrictions helps protect the roadbed when the ground is soft due to thawing. Loads are restricted to 5 tonnes per axle during the weight restriction period.

The County of Lennox and Addington will lift 2024 Seasonal load restrictions as of Tuesday, April 9, 2024, for all County Roads within Loyalist Township, The Town of Greater Napanee, and Stone Mills Township.

PELASS is excited to release another opportunity for qualified and experienced community partners to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Homelessness Prevention Program. This program helps fund initiatives like Supportive Housing, Community Outreach and Support Services, Housing Assistance as well as Emergency Shelter Solutions. Agencies and organizations which provide programming to address/reduce homelessness within the Counties of Prince Edward and Lennox & Addington are encouraged to apply for funding.
