Like a lot of bookworms I usually have more than one (or two or three…) books on the go at any given time. Usually this means a novel, a non-fiction title, and an audiobook or two. Take a metaphorical peek over my shoulder and read further to learn what books I’m enjoying now.

Help from non-self help

I don’t generally read a lot of self-help, but I do read a lot of non-fiction titles that just so happen to have lessons that can be applied to everyday life. The following are some books that are not technically self-help (except for one!) but will be helpful to the reader nonetheless!

Be the help kids need. Be a foster parent.

Quinte Conservation Declares Level 2 Low Water Condition for the Quinte Conservation Watershed

Quinte Conservation and the Low Water Response Team have declared a Level 2 Low Water Condition due to lack of rainfall and low flows throughout the Quinte Watershed.

Quinte Conservation Watershed Monitoring Coordinator Lynette Lambert says, “The long range forecasts do not show much rain and it looks as though the warm and dry conditions will continue into the fall.”

Lennox and Addington Wins Two National Economic Development Awards

Lennox and Addington County Economic Development returned from the Economic Development Association of Canada Conference (Fredericton, NB) with two national marketing awards.  Each year the Economic Development Association of Canada hosts the Marketing Canada Awards.  The awards are presented to acknowledge communities across Canada who have succeeded in their marketing efforts and to highlight up-and-coming best practices in the economic development profession.
