Julie Wendland, Readers’ Services Coordinator for the County of Lennox & Addington Libraries, recently enjoyed Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street: The New Home Cooking, a gorgeous new cookbook worthy of a coffee table.

“Anyone who knows me, knows that I two of my great loves are reading and food so I am a sucker for a good cookbook,” says Julie. “The only TV show that will make me stop reading in the evening is America’s Test Kitchen. Christopher Kimball with his signature bowtie fascinates me so I was excited to see that he has a new cookbook out titled Milk Street.”

Anyone who knows me, knows that I two of my great loves are reading and food so I am a sucker for a good cookbook.

“There is nothing unique in the layout of the Milk Street cookbook but the pictures and recipes are both delicious in visual appeal and taste,” she explains. “Two of the recipes that we tried were Burmese Chicken, with it lemon minty flavours. It was a hit with my family. I also tried the Pasta Trappani, which was a huge hit. It was a 15 minute start to finish recipe that allowed plenty of time for after dinner clean up so I did not have to miss any of that night’s episode of America’s Test Kitchen.”

“Christopher has parted ways with his former show but Bridget and Julia are still cooking up a storm and have their own cookbook titled Cooking at Home with Bridget & Julia. Guess we know what my next read will be!”
