The County’s Information Technology Services Department recently received an honourary award for an innovative new program created by GIS staff.

On October 16th, department staff were presented the Esri award for 'Excellence in GIS' by Esri Canada for their WORKS (Work Order Record Keeping System) solution.

The in-house built mobile app leverages the ArcGIS Platform to digitally transform property services’ workflows. The solution offers new standardized databases and logic driven smart forms.  Information from Property Management Staff daily undertakings including housing unit inspections, repairs and incident reporting are now coordinated, streamlined and presented in real-time.

With this new system, management staff are now presented with quantified data about performance, efficiency, financial metrics and customer service, assisting with organizations business.

For their innovation, the team has also received award recognition from Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) Ontario Chapter. Additionally, County Staff also presented their transformation solution at this year’s Municipal Information Systems Association (MISA) conference.
