County Council Highlights:

  • County Council directed staff to request meetings with the Province regarding current delays with the Glenora Ferry Service and funding of Small Business Enterprise Centres. If granted these meetings will take place electronically as part of this year’s virtual Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference.
  • Council authorized the Warden to sign letters to Provincial and Federal Government representatives in support of the next step in the Eastern Ontario Regional Network’s Gigabyte project proposal.  The Gigabyte project would provide much needed broadband coverage and capacity across Eastern Ontario.
  • Council passed a By-law to declare a part lot of County-owned property surplus to the County’s needs.  Currently the northern part of the Old Library Building which is owned by the Town of Greater Napanee, resides on the County property.  The County intends to sell the part lot to the Town in order to remedy the encroachment.
