The Lennox and Addington County Paramedic Service has been informed that our electronic health record management system has been voluntarily and precautionarily shut down as a result of a cybersecurity incident within the IT infrastructure of our Service Provider.

Although the system is an important resource for the Paramedics of the region, the interruption on the operations of the Lennox and Addington Paramedic Service is minimal and does not affect our ability to respond to 9-1-1 emergency calls or our Community Paramedic Services.

Our paramedics continue to respond to calls and transfer patients to hospital.  We are implementing contingency plans and are using offline methods to manage patient data and other functions.

This situation is currently affecting the majority of paramedic services across Ontario. The appropriate authorities and resources have been deployed to restore the system as soon as possible.

Updates will be shared when available.
