Our Ordinary, Extraordinary Lives is an exhibit at the Museum of Lennox & Addington that speaks to this message through vibrant photography, commentary, and art. Our families today may look different from families 150 years ago, but this fact transcends time - Our Ordinary, is the Extraordinary.

The Chadwick Family

"Jillian is a mama bear. When the pandemic hit, she decided to devote her energy to homeschooling her two girls, and by the looks of it, she has a true gift for this. Her patience and kindness with her girls as they went through their morning curriculum books was beautiful. After their learning portion of the morning, the girls and their mom did some baking. In the afternoon, everyone visited the big cow barn, where dad milks the cows twice a day. Dairy farming has been a family business for five generations for this family! This family combines modern and rural living in the best of ways. Their newly renovated farmhouse (a 150yr old house, which gets anew facelift with each generation who lives there) is a cosy and bright escape from the outdoor elements, but each and every day, farm chores await. This family makes the most of every little moment in between, and the girls are soaking up all the beauty of the ordinary moments to be found on their farm: from feeding a leftover sandwich to the chickens, to playing with one of the farm kitties, or petting a newborn calf: it’s all in a day’s play (and learning)!"
