Planning Out an Autumn Leaf Tour of L&A

September 29, 2020
Rob Plumley

Lennox & Addington County is always a great place be, especially in the fall when the leaves light up the landscape.

This weekend we have a video crew visiting L&A during the peak of the autumn's transformation. Along with brilliant views of the tree line, they will also be filming some locals as they hike, cycle, ride, paddle and drive with the colours of the season as a backdrop.

To prepare for the visit, I had to pre-scout some areas to make sure that the leaves were looking good. Tough job, I know.

Napanee Restaurant Incorporates e-Commerce to Keep Up With Takeout Demand

Now more than ever, it is important for business owners to provide as many outlets as possible to sell their products and services.

When COVID-19 forced non-essential businesses to shut their doors to foot traffic in March, those that already had an e-commerce function incorporated into their sales model had an advantage. They already had access to their customer base 24/7. For these businesses, the unexpected closure still stung, but not as badly as it could have otherwise.

The flag at the County Courthouse is currently flying at half mast in recognition of the passing of former Prime Minister John Turner. Former PM Turner died on Sept 19th at the age of 91.  The Canadian government also announced a half-masting of the national flags on the Peace Tower and all federal buildings and establishments in Canada to honour Turner’s memory. Flags will remain at half-mast until the day of his funeral on Oct 6th.

Route Itineraries for a Perfect Colour Tour

Autumn is my favourite season. The humidity of the summer is mostly gone, the nights are cool, and the days are still warm enough to keep the heavy jacket in the back of the closet.

With the exception of raking the lawn - and raking again, and again - there's nothing not to like about this time of year. Despite the work that goes along with keeping the yard in order, seeing the colours that Mother Nature unveils every fall is well worth it.

A Colourful Paddle on Deerock Lake

September 13, 2020

When I talk to folks about kayaking I've had a few people mention to me how great a spot Deerock Lake is to paddle. I added it to my bucket list of places to visit and I finally made the trip on a sunny morning in early-October of 2019.

They weren't exaggerating - Deerock Lake Conservation Area may be the absolute most beautiful place I've ever been to. I can hardly wait to go back again this year.
