$36 Million for Rural High-Speed Internet Announced

Internet access is more than just a convenience: communities, businesses and institutions need it to offer new services and create new opportunities. That’s why, through an investment of over $10.8 million, the Government of Canada is helping 21 communities and up to 38 institutions in eastern Ontario get online with new or improved high-speed Internet access. Of the 21 communities that will benefit from this investment, one is an Indigenous community.

Unlikable characters and the character-driven reader

A character-driven reader is someone who reads in order to get into the head of an interesting character. This is different from those who read for setting, storyline or prose. A book with character as its biggest appeal is a book in which readers feel so connected with the characters that when the book is over, they feel they lost someone dear to them. However, there is more than one type of character-driven reader and there is more than one type of character-driven book.
