Julie Wendland, Readers' Services Coordination, recently enjoyed Starlight, the final novel of the late Canadian novelist Richard Wagamese. Here is her mini review:

Starlight is Richard Wagamese’s unfinished novel that he was writing when he passed away.  In a note at the end, the publisher tries to wrap up the story based on Wagamese’s notes and conversations.  The book tells the tale of a mother and daughter on the run from an abusive relationship and a chance meeting with Frankie Starlight who teaches them to trust again.  This book has his common themes of forgiveness and being at one with nature.  Despite the abrupt ending, it proves that he was one of Canada’s best storytellers and he will be greatly missed.
