Patricia recently enjoyed Our Table, a children's picture book by Peter H. Reynolds that follows a young girl who is determined to reconnect her family after they drifted to separate interests and areas of the house.

Growing up our kitchen table was not only where we ate it was the place where we shared joys, made announcements, held celebrations, did homework, visited with family and friends and so much more - the table was at the center of it all. In his most recent book Our Table, Peter H. Reynolds introduces the reader to Violet who longs to reconnect with her family as they have slowly drifted apart and become consumed with technology. Determined Violet draws them all in with a project to build a table.  Everyone has an assignment and this working together reconnects the family and brings them back to the table. Our Table draws readers in with wonderful pictures that help share the message of connection, gratitude and working together. Looking for more picture books that share an important message?
