SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- We will continue to require that patrons return items using the book drops and that all borrowed items complete a 72-hour quarantine
- Light browsing can continue as it once did, but we will instruct patrons to set aside heavily handled materials so they can be sanitized by staff before being recirculated. Baskets will be available throughout the libraries for this purpose. Materials that cannot be sanitized (e.g. newspapers) will not be available for in library use
- We will begin planning small programs for up to 10 people at Amherstview and Napanee to start in Phase 3. Programs will require preregistration to control numbers. We will suspend in person programming at Bath, Tamworth, and Yarker for the time being due to space challenges
- Occupancy will be strictly enforced and particular sections of branches will also have their own occupancy limits
- Floor decals will ensure one-way access to book stacks, as well as manage the flow of traffic around the circulation desks
- Plexiglass screens and other barriers have been installed at the circulation desks as well as public computer terminals as needed
- Furniture and equipment have been spaced out or removed from the branches in order to ensure a two-meter distance can be maintained between patrons
- Hand sanitizer will be available at entrances and throughout the library
- Signage will be placed in front of library entrances, as well as throughout the facilities to ensure compliance with procedures and encourage safe practices
- Public computer access will be limited to thirty minutes and equipment will be sanitized after each use
- Users without a library card will be required to provide contact information for contact tracing
- Each open branch will be cleaned twice per day, as well as sanitized as needed (e.g. after a public computer terminal is vacated)
