Sign Regulations Policy
Overview
The Sign Regulations Policy controls the type of sign, size and location permitted within the County’s Right-of-Way. The policy ensures that signs are not a safety hazard and assists in maintaining a clean and positive image for the County.
How to Retreive a Removed Sign
To make arrangements to pick up a sign that has been removed, contact the County of Lennox & Addington at 613.354.4883 or email.
Signs that have been removed are stored for 14 business days and are available for pick-up during this time period. After the 14 days, the County may dispose of the sign without notice or compensation.
Speed Limit Policy
Overview
The purpose of this policy is to provide consistent processes and criteria to review and establish speed limits on the County’s road network. This policy will permit equitable treatment of each request from the community and will allow a technical review of each location when a request for a speed limit modification is received.
Entrance Policy
Overview
This policy describes the process used to establish the frequency, location, construction and use of entrances onto roads under the jurisdiction of the County of Lennox and Addington.
Piping/Filling of Roadside Ditches Policy
Overview
The County of Lennox and Addington has complete ownership of its road allowances and authority over features placed and activities conducted within it.
The purpose of this policy is to establish criteria to be applied when evaluating requests from the public and private landowners abutting a County road to pipe and/or fill a County roadside ditch.
The provisions of this policy shall apply to all road allowances under the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the County of Lennox and Addington.
In the evaluation of a request to pipe and/or fill a County roadside ditch, the benefits gained by the County must be evident.
Mailbox Policy
Overview
This policy is intended to establish appropriate and consistent action when private mailboxes located on County of Lennox and Addington road allowances are damaged or impacted by vehicles undertaking maintenance activities on behalf of the County such as grading or ditching. More often however such impact arises as a result of snow plowing operations.
