If you've received a provincial offence ticket, we're here to guide you through the process. Explore the various payment and plea options available to you, ensuring that you make informed decisions regarding your ticket.

What to Do When You Get a Ticket

If you get a ticket, check the reverse side of your ticket for your payment options.

Please note – the ticket states that payment is due in 15 days, but our Court provides an additional 29 days for a total of 44 calendar days before conviction.

If you have moved since your last court appearance, please email here or call 613-354-1672 to provide your email, phone number, and current mailing address so that you do not miss important information.

If you choose not to pay your ticket or haven’t done so within 15 days of receiving a Part 1 Ticket, you MUST choose one of the three options that are explained on the reverse of the ticket.

1. Plea of Guilty Payment Out of Court

You are pleading guilty to the offence and must pay the ticket amount in full following the payment options above.

2. Plea of Guilty with an Explanation or a Walk-In Guity Plea

You have the chance to admit guilt and explain financial hardship before a Justice of the Peace in Napanee.
While the charge itself cannot be reduced (e.g. a spending offence of 20 kilometers over the limit cannot be lowered to 15 kilometers), you may receive a lesser fine or an extended payment period.
It’s important to note that the Justice of the Peace does not have the authority to alter or remove demerit points associated with the charge.
You can submit this plea on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the County Memorial Building, 41 Dundas Street West, Napanee, ON. No appointment is required.
