Patricia recently enjoyed No Offense, the latest rom-com novel by The Princess Diaries author Meg Cabot. Here is Patricia's review:
Marg enjoyed reading The Yawns are Coming by Chris Eliopoulos to her grandkids more than once this past summer. Here is her review of this delightful picture book:
While we have begun reintroducing small, in-person programs at our Amherstview and Napanee Branches, we also have a few programs that we're running virtually. Not everyone feels comfortable venturing too far out of the house these days, so we hope these video sessions (accessible on Facebook as well as our new YouTube channel) will help maintain your connection to the library.

It is baffling how much goes on behind the scenes in museums, so I thought I’d bring you along while I go through the steps of an inventory for a single artifact. This single artifact is part of the larger furniture inventory happening at the museum. First off, why would a museum be doing an inventory? This is one of those questions that has a million correct answers but more than anything else the answer is because it’s a good idea.
The fall colours have reached their peak here in the southern portion of Lennox & Addington County. If you want to see them, you'd better get a move on... the leaves are falling fast!
I took a mid-week drive with the goal of finding a top-10 list of viewing locations for a weekend road trip. However, the colours were fantastic along the entire route, so fantastic that it was impossible to narrow it down to a measly 10 places.

I’ll begin this blog by saying I miss you all. I miss hearing the voices of visitors talking about exhibits, the beautiful sound of music resonating with the audience, kids' laughter echoing in our hallway and the ability to create a sense of community within our walls. It has been a different year for us at Lennox and Addington County Museum and Archives, navigating how to connect with our visitors from a distance. 2020 has allowed us the time and ability to rethink how we function and how we will be able to have an even greater reach and impact for our visitors and beyond.
While growing up in Newburgh I spent a lot of time on the Cataraqui Trail, long before it was known by such a name.
My parent's property backed onto the old rail line that cut through the village. The tracks were still there back in the 80's, but I don't recall ever seeing a train moving in either direction.
My brother and I and other neighbourhood kids used to play and bike up and down the old tracks all the time, jumping into ditches, getting wet and dirty in the process. Long story short, we enjoyed every minute of it.
