Seasonal Load Restriction By-law

Each year The County puts weight restrictions on many County Roads from February 15 through April 15. Reducing load restrictions helps protect the roadbed during times when the ground is soft due to thawing. Loads are restricted to 5 tonnes per axle during the weight restriction period.

The County of Lennox and Addington will lift 2024 Seasonal load restrictions as of Tuesday, April 9, 2024, for all County Roads within Loyalist Township, The Town of Greater Napanee, and Stone Mills Township.

January 29, 2024 – The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (EOWC), representing 103 municipalities across rural eastern Ontario, joins the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) in calling on the province to commit to reviewing the provincial-municipal fiscal framework as part of the upcoming provincial budget.

PELASS is excited to release another opportunity for qualified and experienced community partners to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Homelessness Prevention Program. This program helps fund initiatives like Supportive Housing, Community Outreach and Support Services, Housing Assistance as well as Emergency Shelter Solutions. Agencies and organizations which provide programming to address/reduce homelessness within the Counties of Prince Edward and Lennox & Addington are encouraged to apply for funding.

January 16, 2024, Eastern Ontario – The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (EOWC), during its annual inaugural meeting on January 11 and 12, 2024 hosted by the County of Lennox and Addington, Renfrew County Warden Peter Emon was re-elected as Chair and Peterborough County Warden Bonnie Clark was acclaimed as Vice-Chair for the 2024 term.

County Council elects new Warden and Deputy Warden for 2024

At the December 13, 2023 Inaugural Meeting, County Council elected their Warden and Deputy Warden for the year 2024.  County Council elected John Wise, Reeve of the Township of Stone Mills as Warden and Nathan Townend, Deputy Mayor of Loyalist Township as Deputy Warden.

Lennox and Addington County Council's Inaugural Meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 6:30 pm.  The meeting will be in-person at the County Court House, 97 Thomas Street E, Napanee. 

At the meeting, Council will present 2023 County Staff Service Awards, elect their Warden, Deputy Warden and make all Committee appointments for the year 2024.

All are welcome to attend.
