TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, all interests, and all abilities. This free program is co-created and delivered by 2,000 public libraries across Canada. It celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories. It’s designed to inspire kids to explore the fun of reading their way – the key to building a lifelong love of reading.
Bath, Tamworth and Yarker branches of the County of Lennox & Addington Libraries have new and expanded hours. This change came into effect on June 1st, 2017.

Jennifer from the Amherstview Branch recently enjoyed reading The Zookeeper’s Wife by Diane Ackerman, a 2007 novel that was released as a movie earlier this year.
“The Zookeeper’s Wife tells the true story of a couple who ran a zoo and when it became a farm during Nazi rule,” explains Jennifer. “Antonina, a housewife, and her husband, Jan, a zoo director, secretly sheltered Jews in their home and on the grounds.”
The County of Lennox and Addington will be celebrating Canada 150th anniversary on August 19th at 7pm. Join us for an unforgettable free evening of entertainment outside on the grounds of the Lennox & Addington County Court House. Lennox and Addington County Court House is an important building within the County and Canada. Given its association with some of the first families of Upper Canada it is a very fitting venue to celebrate the 150th anniversary of confederation.
Kids, do you collect something you just have to share? Become a curator for a day on June 3rd at 10am and showcase your collection at Museum Kids!
Bring in your collection the Lennox and Addington County Museum and Archives in Napanee and create an “exhibit” to share with the public. Table space will be provided to each child, along with some art supplies to assist with the “exhibit design” for their special collections.
Marg Wood of the Napanee Branch of the County of Lennox & Addington Libraries recently enjoyed the newly released historical fiction novel The Orphan’s Tale by Pam Jenoff. “From the author of The Kommandant’s Girl, comes an equally heartwarming and heartbreaking story of love and the quest for survival during WWII,” says Marg.
Fans of WWII era historical fiction are sure to enjoy this poignant tale.
With summer fast-approaching, a number of Lennox & Addington County's signature tourism operators will soon be opening their doors for another busy season.
Bon Echo Provincial Park in Cloyne opens for day use and overnight camping beginning on May 12th. Bon Echo is the county's largest tourist attraction, with more than 200,000 people through the gates annually.
On June 10th from 10am-1pm at the Napanee Branch Library, we will be holding our 3rd Annual Local Author Showcase and Great Big Book Sale.
