Ontario Renovates is a program that provides financial assistance for low to moderate income homeowners by way of a forgivable loan to repair their home to acceptable standards while improving the energy efficiency and/or increasing the accessibility of their unit.

Funding will be provided in the form of a 10 year, interest free forgivable loan registered on title to homeowners based on the cost of approved work items up to $50,000 depending on the volume of applications and funding availability. In addition, funding for accessibility repairs made to a home and/or unit up to a maximum of $5,000 as based upon the cost of approved work items, is in the form of a grant and does not require repayment.

Loans are repayable if the home is sold, the homeowner/title holder(s) cease to live in the home or funding is used for other purposes. If the cost of the mandatory repairs is more than the maximum forgivable loan available, the homeowner will be required to cover the additional cost.

Funding is limited and applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
