Geocaching International Film Festival screening returns to L&A County Museum

You're invited to attend a special screening of the 2017 Geocaching International Film Festival finalists at the Lennox & Addington County Museum & Archives, located at 97 Thomas Street East in Napanee.

It's your chance to enjoy the entire reel of 17 finalist films from the 2017 Geocaching International Film Festival. The event is on Saturday, November 4th from 2:00 - 4:30 pm. The video reel is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and showtime will be at 2:30pm. 

New Accessible Pedestrian Signals - Downtown Napanee

As part of the Dundas Street and Bridge Street re-construction projects in Napanee two Downtown intersections are now equipped with Accessible Pedestrian Signals.

Accessible Pedestrian Signals, abbreviated as APS, provide visual, audible and vibro-tactile WALK indications to advise pedestrians when they have the right-of-way to cross the street in a particular crossing direction.

 

It's Ontario Public Library Week!

October is Canadian Library Month! During this month, libraries and library partners across Canada raise awareness of the valuable role libraries play in Canadians' lives. In Ontario, we celebrate our public libraries during Ontario Public Library Week (OPLW), on October 15 to 21, 2017. 

As a thank you to our wonderful library patrons, we will be expanding the number of Hoopla items you can borrow from 5 to 20 items from now until the end of the month.

The Ham House the topic for the next edition of “Archives Learning Labs”

The next edition of "Archives Learning Labs" takes place at the Lennox & Addington County Museum & Archives in Napanee on Saturday, October 28th from 10am - noon.

Ron Tasker will discuss the restoration of the Ham House (1817), Bath, as it connects to the built heritage of early Ontario. He will also present finds made in the building and explore how they relate to individuals and significant local and world events. 

Exhibit opening for "Reflect: 40 Years of Art Making in L&A County” by Tim Nimigan is on October 26th

On Thursday, October 26th at 7pm, visitors are invited to a new exhibit opening and talk at the Lennox & Addington County Museum & Archives in Napanee. Those in attendance will hear from long-time L&A County artist Tim Nimigan, as he unveils his exhibit entitled "Reflect: 40 Years of Art Making in L&A County".
