County Declares Significant Weather Event
December 22, 2022 as of 4:00 pm today - After reviewing weather reports that the County of Lennox and Addington subscribes to, and observing the weather warnings issued by Environment Canada, the County of Lennox and Addington is declaring a significant weather event in the municipality, as defined within the Minimum Maintenance Standards Regulation Ont. 239/02.
During the significant weather event, the County is advising motorists, pedestrians and residents to use extra caution as the municipality may not be able to meet its maintenance standards for roads and sidewalks due to expected high winds, rain, flash freezing, snow, and blowing snow. The declaration will not change how or when the municipality performs its winter maintenance operations. However, it may take the municipality longer than usual to bring the roads and sidewalks back to a state of repair.
Public safety is the municipality’s top priority. The County of Lennox and Addington will continue to update the public with information as it becomes available, during this significant weather event.
