Hours of Work:   35 hours per week, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, (with flexible hours as required)

Salary:                  $99.099.00 to $115,897.60 per year plus a comprehensive benefit package

Lennox & Addington County is seeking a dynamic professional for the position of Manager, Library Services. As Chief Librarian of the County of Lennox & Addington Libraries, the Manager provides leadership in all aspects of library operations, including the oversight of five branch libraries. 

Here are some of the things that will be part of your day-to-day life with us:

  • Planning, organizing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive Library Services program
  • Managing the day to day operations and financial objectives of our libraries
  • Managing a team of twenty-five staff, including training, scheduling, recruitment, and evaluation
  • Designing and delivering innovative library services, programs, and marketing strategies
  • Overseeing the library’s technical services, website, social media and electronic resources
  • Preparing statistical reports, grant applications, general research, and special projects
  • Building our community by continuing to evolve our libraries’ spaces and services
  • Anticipating and defining future needs through strategic thinking, creativity, and collaboration 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • A minimum of three years supervisory experience in a library environment
  • Good knowledge of modern library principles and practices, systems, and emerging technologies
  • Experience managing and optimizing websites, social media, digital collections, and other digital assets
  • Experience in ILS administration and maintenance, preferably with Symphony
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, good judgement, initiative, and critical thinking
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work independently and confidently
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to the County’s goal of excellence in customer service
  • Access to a personal vehicle, as travel between branches is required
  • Satisfactory attendance record, subject to the requirements of the Ontario Human Rights Code
