A County Rich in History, Culture and Natural Beauty
The County of Lennox and Addington in Eastern Ontario stretches from Lake Ontario to the rugged, rocky terrain of the Canadian Shield. The 2,777 square kilometre County is 130 kilometres long and is neighbour to Renfrew, Hastings, Prince Edward and Frontenac Counties.
Populated by both rural and urban residents, Lennox and Addington County is conveniently close to major Canadian centres and the USA border. We are:
30 minutes from Belleville and Kingston;
2 hours from Toronto and Ottawa; and,
3 hours to Montreal.

History of The County
Lennox and Addington County, in Eastern Ontario, Canada, traces its roots back to the late 18th century with the settlement of United Empire Loyalists escaping the American Revolutionary War. Officially formed in 1864 when it separated from the County of Frontenac, Lennox & Addington flourished through the 19th and early 20th centuries, thanks to the Napanee River system and the Grand Trunk Railway. Its rich history is celebrated today through various historic sites, museums, and cultural events, honouring the legacy of its early settlers.
