GRG 3rd Annual Mystery Garden Tour

Meeting Point: Stone Mills Twp Parking Lot, Centreville

Solve the garden mystery at the GrassRoots Growers Mystery Garden Tour! The tour will cover two local gardens. One is a new organic farm in the early stages of set up.  On what was previously a cattle farm, rich garden soil has been created by ditching to drain boggy land. See orchards, grape vines, vegetable plots and more.   The second site is a well-established shade garden where you will see unusual and interesting plants in a beautifully designed riverside setting . Specific locations and directions will be revealed at the meeting point on the day of the tour. Wooly Bully Races

The Wooly Bully Races return to Amherst Island! 5/10K events are staged on a very scenic out and back route along the South Shore of Lake Ontario. There will be at least 2 aid stations, each kilometer will be marked. 10K race is event # 7 in the 2014 Kingston Road Race Series. All races will be chip timed. Lennox & Addington County's 150th Anniversary Celebration

97 Thomas Street East, Napanee

The re-opening of the Museum & Archives will coincide with the 150th anniversary celebration of Lennox & Addington County, taking place on Saturday, August 23rd. In addition to tours and an open house of this impressive facility, a great evening of free entertainment is in store for the public outside on the grounds of the L&A County Court House. The evening highlights local musicians and internationally-known performers, headlined by Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy: Masters of the Fiddle. Circus Orange, an act that combines circus arts with special effects, will also be performing. Local well-known acts that will take the stage during the evening include The Kim Pollard Band, David Archibald, Sam And Emma McNichols, and Dallas Daisy. Old Hay Bay Church Annual Pilgrimage Service

2365 South Shore Road, Adolphustown

Built in 1792, the Old Hay Bay Church is recognized as a national Canadian Historic site. It is the oldest Methodist building in Canada and the second oldest church in Ontario. A commemorative service is held annually. This year, the guest speaker is Hon. Peter Milliken, P.C., member of Parliament for Kingston-and-the-Islands, 1988-2011. Walk™ to save pets, presented by Nutrience and benefiting the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, is being held at various times during this weekend in 17 communities across Ontario.
