Garlic Workshop

Burt's Greenhouses, 539 Maple Road, Odessa

On September 12th & 13th you're invited to a Garlic Workshop at Burt's Greenhouses in Odessa.  Burt’s Greenhouses have been producing garlic from bulbils for several years and have now built up a stock including bulbils, rounds and bulbs all disease and pest free. Brian and Ruth will be available to answer any of your questions all day. At 10:00 and 2:00 both days they will be doing a more formal presentation about garlic culture, how they grow and how you can grow the best garlic with the fewest problems. Loyalist Township Fall Open House

 Make fall fun! You're invited to the Loyalist Township Fall Open House. The Fall Open House will take place on September 13th from 1:00-4:00pm at the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre in Amherstview. It's a chance for youth and adults to gain information and have an opportunity to register for programs available throughout the Township. Loyalist Township Emergency Services, Jump Start, Recreation Services, Loyalist Township Aquatic Services, and Musical Petting Zoo just some of the groups and clubs confirmed so far. Bath Fall Festival

Centennial Park, Bath

The Bath Fall Festival returns to Centennial Park. Proudly presented by the Bath Gardening Club & Horticultural Society, activities include baked goods, preserves, vegetables, floral competitions. Youth competitions (12 & under) include largest sunflower head, oddest shaped carrot, largest zucchini and longest bean. Judging underthe big test is at 11am. Other activities include a 4H Club Display, kids games, vendor's market, face painting and free wagon rides. Enjoy free corn on the cob and hot dogs from 4 - 5 pm.

Limestone Century Bicycle Tour

Lennox & Addington County, Frontenac County, Prince Edward County, Kingston

The Kingston Velo Club presents the 9th Annual Limestone Century Bicycle Tour. Challenge yourself on this non-competitive cycle tour through the quiet roads of Lennox & Addington, Frontenac and Prince Edward Counties. Routes traverse the Canadian Shield and follows the Lake Ontario shore on the teturn. Pass through several picturesque and historic towns of Southeastern Ontario. Paws, Claws, and Talons II With award winning photographer: Bill Bickle

Exhibit Opening: September 15th, 7pm


An exhibit of Wild animals caught in camera by wildlife photographer Bill Bickle. The exhibit will include up to 30 Images of Wild Animals displaying their unique characteristics . Some of the Animals included may be Bald Eagles, Grizzly Bears, Wapiti, Spirit Bears, Black Bear, Humpback Whales, Sea Lions, Blue Heron, Hummingbird and others. The exhibit opens September 15th with Artist "Bill Bickle" presenting an Audio Visual presentation of select images set in music and his reflections of his photo Adventures. Jacob Moon in Concert

Starstop Concerts is proud to present popular folk singer/songwriter Jacob Moon as he makes his debut performance in Greater Napanee on Friday, September 25th at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church. Local singer/songwriter Gloria Digby will open the concert. Moon is an in-demand performer, known for his imaginative and innovative repertoire of cover songs, but more significantly as deeply engaging songwriter whose original compositions has created a huge fanbase in Canada and the United States. International Dry Stone Wall Festival

Amherst Island

You are invited to the Amherst Island International Dry Stone Wall Festival. Amherst Island has one of Canada’s largest concentrations of historic Irish dry stone walls, many over 150 years old – representing this region’s significant Irish cultural heritage.

The 3 day Irish-Canadian Dry Stone Festival will feature many free workshops and activities for adults and children too. There will be dry stone carving demos, the creation of two dry stone significant structures, workshops for kids, teaching the technique using lighter material than stone, 3 days of Irish music, displays of dry stone building techniques from both Countries, walking tours of Stella, driving tours of the Island stone walls, an Irish storyteller relating our history and more.  Free. 

The two day Dry Stone Workshop, under the direction of Irish waller, is the only activity requiring registration. Many VIPs will be present including the Irish ambassador to Canada, and author Jane Urquhart.

The Grand Old Enterprise Jamboree

Enterprise Hall

 

The Grand Old Enterprise Jamboree returns on October 5th at the Enterprise Hall starting at 1 pm. Guest entertainers will be Jon McLurg and Landon Chatterton.
