Big Bright Light Show

Downtown Napanee

Do some shopping, grab a bite to eat, then walk Dundas Street to take in Downtown Napanee's Big Bright Light Show! The street is lit up again this winter as over 450,000 energy efficient LED lights bring to life a winter wonderland that you won’t want to miss.  Come and get into the holiday spirit in Downtown Napanee! RBC Road to the World Juniors - Czech Republic & Finland Open Practices

Strathcona Paper Centre, Napanee

The RBC Road to the World Juniors is travelling through Lennox & Addington County and it's going to be an unforgettable week of hockey!  In addition to the pre-competition game between defending champion Finland and Czech Republic on December 19th at 7pm (tickets now sold out), both clubs have scheduled multiple practices at the Strathcona Paper Centre from December 18th - 23rd.

Practices provide a great opportunity for local minor hockey players, coaches and the community in general to see elite-level drills performed by some of the world’s best young players. Those in attendance are encouraged to bring along a non-perishable food item for the local food bank.

These practices are free and open to the public to view. The schedule for both clubs (subject to change) can be found by clicking here.

7th Annual Downtown Shopping Party 2014

Downtown Napanee

Finish up your holiday shopping while giving back to your community at the 7th Annual Downtown Shopping Party! There will be carollers, reindeer, wagon rides and Santa too! Participating stores will have drop boxes for food donations that will be distributed to local organizations, including The Salvation Army, Interval House and The Morning Star Mission. Treats for customers, discounts, live entertainment, gifts with purchase or draws will be available! Participating business will have their lights on! For more information please call 613-354-3665.

RBC Road to the World Juniors - Czech Republic VS Finland

Strathcona Paper Centre, 16 McPherson Drive, Napanee

The RBC Road to the World Juniors travels through Napanee! On Friday, December 19th at 7pm, defending champion Finland takes on the Czech Republic in a pre-competition game at the Strathcona Paper Centre. The game is now sold out. Thanks to everyone for purchasing early! We'll see you at the SPC!

Hockey Canada Century Tour

Strathcona Paper Centre, Napanee

Hockey Canada is celebrating their 100th anniversary, and to commemorate the occasion, an interactive hockey experience caravan is visiting 100 communities across the country celebrating Canada's game. From December 19th to 21st, the Hockey Canada Century Tour will be at the Strathcona Paper Centre in Napanee! Fans visiting the Century Tour will be immersed in the history and energy that is Canadian hockey. The tour includes a state-of-the-art interactive timeline of milestone hockey moments and artifacts, as well as activities for kids, families and all fans of the game.

The Hockey Canada Century Tour is open Friday from 3 to 7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm and is free of charge. For more information visit www.HockeyCanada.ca or follow Hockey Canada and #CenturyTour on social media. We'll see you at the SPC!

"Keeping Warm: Year of the Sheep"  with Margaret Duncan

L&A County Museum & Archives, 97 Thomas Street East, Napanee

The Lennox & Addington County Museum & Archives is hosting its monthly edition of ‘Museum Kids’ on January 3rd beginning at 10 am.

How did you keep warm in the grueling winter months long ago? Join, Master Spinner, Margaret Duncan as she shows you how to spin wool.  Using a drop spindle or by taking a turn on the treadled spinning wheel, children will learn how fleece is spun into yarn. Master Weaver, Alison Ginn, will demonstrate how that freshly spun yarn is woven into beautiful coverlets that keep us warm.

Salon Productions Presents “Sir John Eh? The Road Show”

L&A County Museum & Archives, 97 Thomas Street East, Napanee

You are invited to spend a Tuesday Night at the Museum & Archives. This monthly speaker series presents an exciting guest that offers interesting insights into history and the rich culture of our community.

A multi-faceted project to commemorate the life and legacy of Canada's principal architect and first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. 2015 is Sir John A.'s Bicentennial. SirJohnA2015 is a brithday gift comprising programs that raise awareness about Canadian history and heritage, and Sir John A.'s starring role. We shine a light on the man, warts and all, through theatre, information, legacy projects and engagement with Canadians from coast to coast to coast.

On January 24th join the Cloyne & District Historical Society for a Robbie Burns Supper. Cocktails begin at 5:30 pm followed by supper at 6:30 pm at the Lions' hall in Northbrook. Don your tartans and come for neeps and tatties, lots of scotch and some country dancing. Be there as Gordon Sparks addresses the haggis. The Grand Old Enterprise Jamboree

Enterprise Hall

 

The Grand Old Enterprise Jamboree returns on October 5th at the Enterprise Hall starting at 1 pm. Guest entertainers will be Jon McLurg and Landon Chatterton. Many other entertainers will also be in attendance so come out for a great afternoon of fun, good music and dancing. Canteen will also be available. Sponsored by the Newburgh-Camden Lions Club.
